(White Porcelain Vessals)
This series of porcelain vessels is about forms: strong, sleek, harmonious linear lines. The structure of each piece invites visual and tactile exploration, engaging the viewer into an investigation of seemingly private and secret interior spaces. A uniform creamy white glaze, reminiscent of the unique pristine qualities of porcelain, fits the clay like a new skin, which intentionally allows the physical structure of the work to speak for itself. The porcelain pedestals accompanying some of the vessels offer an opportunity to create different silhouettes. This body of work was thrown on the wheel and fired to cone 9 in an electric kiln. Go

(Stoneware and Porcelain)
This body of work was inspired by the Mishima technique from the Koryo Dynasty Era of Korea (935-1392). This technique parallels my artistic personality to produce ordered design on clay. The moist clay body is laboriously carved or incised with a design, then left empty, or filled with contrasting black, white, or colored slip. The bisque piece is covered with a translucent or celadon glaze allowing the carved or inlayed design to be clearly visible through the glaze. This work radiates a feeling of controlled casualness with simple design.  Go
